Hillcrest Cinema 2017 – 2018 season

Our Christmas film on Saturday 16th December

This charming comedy combines endearing characters with generous helpings of deadpan humour. It tells the story of Ricky Baker, a 13-year- old delinquent in New Zealand, who ventures into the wilderness to avoid juvenile detention. Thankfully, he is tracked down by his foster uncle, Hector (Sam Neill), a grumpy, taciturn mountain man who knows how to survive in the bush. The two of them are forced to become fugitives, as Ricky’s disappearance causes a national manhunt. As they try to stay one step ahead of the authorities, they form a delightful double act, creating a mismatched duo who are utterly joyous to watch. Don’t miss it.
