The Hillcrest Community Centre is self supporting and receives no council or government funding.

The Hillcrest Community Centre is administered for the people of Newhaven by the Hillcrest Community Partnership a registered charity. N0: 1070198

The Hillcrest Centre was an Edwardian school and has been converted into a multi-space community amenity situated near the centre of Newhaven. It is the home to many local activities and community services and rooms can be hired for meetings or events.

The Hillcrest Café sells delicious meals and refreshments from 9.00am until 4.00pm.

There is free car parking and easy access for the disabled.
The Hall and Room 2 are fitted with a Hearing Loop.
The Hall and Room 2 are each fitted with a large screen, projector and sound system.

There is a Country Market every Thursday in the Main Hall.

The Hillcrest Film Society shows films on the third Saturday of the month, so ask reception for a leaflet.

An Adult Oral Storytelling Group meets every second Tuesday of the month.

From the Main Hall, popular for extensive Art Exhibitions, to the Workshops and small Artist’s Studios, we offer a wide range of facilities to the creative members of the community.

Various dance and exercise classes are held the Hillcrest.  Also a fully fitted boxing gym is used by the Hillcrest Boxing Club.

Woodcarving, Art workshops and classes from Drawing to Sculpture take place throughout the year. Check with the office for a list of current courses.

A Knit ‘n Natter group meets in Room 4 on a Monday afternoon.


Various rooms can be hired for all sorts of functions from the Main Hall accommodating 100+ to Room 4 that is ideal for smaller seminars.
The Hall and Room 2 are fitted with a screen and projector, so are ideal for seminars, presentations and small conferences. Room 2 an 7 accommodate up to 60 people.
